Foreign media said the export of fresh food in Japan is expanding. In the 1~7 month, the export of farm and animal products such as fruits and vegetables and eggs increased by 40% compared with that of Asia. The export of aquatic products also increased by 30%. The export of apple and scallop has increased significantly due to the active publicity of producing areas. The global food boom in Japan is also good for exports.
According to the report, the Japanese agricultural and forestry province statistics show that the export of agricultural and livestock products such as fruits, vegetables, eggs, meat and rice (excluding aid rice) has increased by 40% to 18 billion yen. The export volume of aquatic products (excluding dried aquatic products) increased by 30% to 159 billion yen. Agricultural and livestock products, especially fruit, increased by 73% over the same period last year, to 7 billion 200 million yen.
Reported that, among them, the export volume of strawberries increased to 2.4 times, reaching 315 tons. The "Amaou" strawberry produced in Fukuoka county was actively publicized and promoted at the Commodity Fair held in Hongkong and other places. Fukuoka County Ministry of agriculture, forestry and Fisheries said, "it is estimated that the next shipment volume will exceed the previous figure".
Apple's exports also increased by 73% to 10 thousand and 4 kiloton. In May, Taiwan began to require a certificate of origin in the import of food produced in Japan, but it could be replaced by the previous plant quarantine certificate, so it did not affect the export. The Japanese origin, which has just started the 2015 year of apple exports, says: "exports to Taiwan are expected to increase by 20% over the previous year" (Japan's Apple Export Association in Qinghai Province).
In terms of aquatic products, scallop exports increased by 53% over the same period last year, to 63 thousand tons. More than 70% of them are exported to the mainland of China. Hokkaido and local fisheries stakeholders held talks in Asia. Hokkaido aquatic product management class said, "as a result of strengthening cooperation with local purchasing managers, they began to sell well in stores and so on."
The export volume of eggs increased by 56% to 1256 tons, and the volume of exports to Hongkong increased significantly. Affected by avian flu in the United States, global egg stocks are inadequate. As domestic prices rose, export unit prices also rose, but exports remained high.
In addition, the progress of means of transport has also contributed to the expansion of exports. In September 2013, Japan started to use fresh food containers for export business. Compared with the small batch transportation of fresh food packed with ice and dry ice in the box, the cost is lower and the freshness is better maintained. Japan has launched transportation of vegetables and fruits for Hongkong, Singapore and Malaysia. According to the company, the actual transport volume in 4~8 months is "nearly 2 times that of last year".
The total export volume of Japanese farm and forestry products increased by 25% to 413 billion yen, the report said. As Japan's domestic population is declining, the target of the Japanese government is to double the export of agricultural and forestry products and food by 2020 than in 2012 (about 450 billion yen).
